Boston Freedom Trail
Share in Boston's History While on the Freedom Trail
Even though a visit today may cause one new to Boston to get lost in the city's modern skyscrapers, throughout American history Boston has often been at the center (or the "hub") of historical importance. Well-known events over Boston's history include Paul Revere's famed horseback ride from Lexington, the Boston Tea Party or the Boston Massacre.
New visitors to our great city are encouraged to wet their historical appetite by following the city's Freedom Trail. The 2.5 mile walking tour is a fantastic way to explore downtown Boston, exploring the city's historical sights including the Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, the "North End" (little Italy) before terminating at the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill in Charlestown.
While visitors may join the Freedom Trail at any point along the tour, most will likely opt to begin at the edge of the Boston Common. Guests of our Harvard Square hotel have easy access to downtown Boston via the MBTA Red Line, with quick and easy access from Harvard Square to Park Street.
