Harvard Museum of Natural History

Museum visitors will find over 12,000 specimens drawn from Harvard's immense natural history collections, as the Harvard Museum of Natural History serves as the public face for three of the university's research institutions. The museum encourages a hands-on, observation-based approach to learning where visitors may revel at the world's only mounted Kronosaurus, a 42-foot long marine reptile; one of the first Triceratops ever discovered; a 1,642 lb. amethyst geode; and the world-famous glass flower exhibit comprised of 3,000 realistic glass sculptures.

A member of the concierge staff at our Harvard Square hotel will gladly assist you if you would like to attend any of the fascinating public lectures that are scheduled throughout the year. These free presentations and discussions are conducted by Harvard biologists, internationally-acclaimed conservationists and/or popular authors.
