Sheraton Commander Hotel History
  • Built in 1927, The Commander is the longest running Hotel in Harvard Square and the only historic hotel in the Square
  • The current owners, the Guleserian Family, purchased the hotel in the 1962. Shortly afterward in 1963, the Commander became the one of the first franchised Sheraton Hotels
  • Statue of GW only one in private ownership - commissioned by Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin
  • Plaque commemorating the ‘Inspection of the Troops' hanging in hall is the original - copy in Cambridge Common!
  • 2008- Multi-million dollar renovation completed to include guestrooms, common areas and meeting space
  • December 2009: Sheraton Commander is ranked the top Sheraton Hotel in North America (OSAT)
  • April 2011: Nubar restaurant is unveiled at the Commander
