Tufts University, a private university, has a main campus located in Medford/Somerville and features two undergraduate programs and eight graduate programs. Tufts also features campuses in Boston's Chinatown; Grafton, Massachusetts; and Talloires, France. Of all it's schools, Tufts' Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, is the oldest graduate school of international relations.
Tufts competes in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, the NESCAC, in NCAA Division III. The Tufts' mascot is Jumbo, the former elephant of P.T. Barnum's circus, and is the only mascot to appear in Webster's Dictionary.
